Philippines' top judge ousted in victory for Aquino May 29th 2012, 09:34 MANILA | Tue May 29, 2012 5:09am EDT MANILA (Reuters) - The Philippine Senate voted on Tuesday to remove the country's top judge from office for failing to disclose his wealth, a landmark ruling that is likely to boost President Benigno Aquino's campaign to weed out corruption. Eighteen senators out of 23 voted to oust Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona, reaching the two-thirds majority required to remove him from office. He is the first Philippine official to be removed by an impeachment court and will be barred for life from holding public office.
