Moderate 5.8 quake hits Bulgaria near Sofia May 22nd 2012, 00:28 Mon May 21, 2012 8:28pm EDT (Reuters) - A moderately strong 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck Bulgaria on Tuesday at a relatively shallow depth of 5.7 miles, only 14 miles west-northwest of the capital Sofia, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The quake hit at about 3 a.m. local time. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
